Stop Authentication Mac When Installing App
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand you are having trouble updating apps on the Mac App Store. Is the issue only with these four updates? Are you able to download a free app from the Mac App Store?
The first thing I would suggest is to sign out of the Mac App Store, and restart your computer. This will establish a new connection to the internet.
Before clicking on the Mac App Store, visit the Apple ID page below and confirm that you are able to sign in with your Apple ID and password. While you are in your Apple ID account, check the billing section to make sure everything is up to date and there are no blank fields.

- Mac App Store: Click a Button to Install an App. We’re all used to app stores on our phones, but on the desktop they remain an oddity. Still, the Mac App Store is a decent first place to check. Open the store, search for the app you want, and click “Get” then “Download.”.
- Now sign back into the Mac App Store with your Apple ID. Delete and reinstall any affected apps. Rebooting your Mac might solve the issue on OS X 10.10 or later. Try force-quitting the Mac App Store. According to Tweetbot developer Paul Haddad, the security lapse might have something to do with expired receipts for authentication certification.
- The complaint is riddled with questionable allegations, however, including that Apple released a software update around September 2015 that enabled two-factor authentication on Brodsky's Apple ID without his knowledge or consent. Apple in fact offers two-factor authentication on an opt-in basis.
- I am using mac OS X Snow Leopard and having an issue with excessive authentication prompts! Every time I move or copy a file/folder my mac opens the authentication window:eek: I am the only user on my computer and do not want to authenticate every single time I move a file!
Now, open the Mac App Store and sign in with the same Apple ID and password you used earlier.
Click on the Purchases tab. Try updating only one application at a time.
If the issue persists you can delete the app from the Applications folder in Finder and redownload it.
Redownload music, movies, TV shows, apps, and books from the iTunes Store, iBooks Store, and App Store
Take care.
