A Beginner’s Guide To the Mac App Switcher You can use the App Switcher to quickly and easily switch between running apps. It is a keyboard shortcut, but not as simple to use as just pressing the keys. You can use it to see which apps are running and pick which one to bring to the front, all without lifting your fingers off of the keyboard. The Mac App Store makes it easy to buy software for your Mac: Find the app you're looking for, click on the 'Buy' or 'Get' button, and it downloads to your Applications folder, ready to be opened. When it comes to third-party apps, however, you may need to run an installer application or open a disk image to install your app on your Mac.
